Alumni-Undergraduate Welcome Back! 2023/24

On January 19th 2024, we held our very first iteration of the Alumni-Undergrad Welcome Back!, a casual networking event for female SOC undergraduates and alumni. We invited 10 amazing alumni from various jobs in the tech field, who shared both life and career advice with over 30 current female undergraduates, amidst a night of fun trivia and games.
Dinner saw alumni and students alike chatting and getting to know each other. After some fun trivia about famous women in computing, students were split into smaller groups with one alumni in each group, where they could ask their alumni questions about anything, from their experiences in university to their experiences in the industry.
We’d like to thank our alumni, Jia Ying, Harsh, Yaoyuan, Shimei, Brenda, Kaitlyn and Vishruti for their enthusiasm and going above and beyond to answer everyone’s questions thoughtfully and provide us with more insight into career paths, finding internships, fun modules to take in university, figuring out what you enjoy and more!
We’d also like to thank our participants for their active participation, enthusiasm and cheerfulness. With our alumni and students’ help, we fulfilled our aims of holding an event that enabled female undergraduates to be inspired, network and build meaningful relationships with alumni from various fields in tech.
