Career Human Library 23/24



On March 12th and 15th, 2024, Women in Tech@NUS SOC had the privilege of running our flagship Human Library event with the support of Singapore Computer Society's Women in Tech Chapter. Across 2 sessions, we had the pleasure of inviting 14 inspiring speakers to connect with female students at NUS SoC.


Our central aim was empowerment, focusing on showcasing the achievements of women across a range of tech domains. This effort was driven by our desire to:1. Inspire Women: We wanted to inspire our community by shining a spotlight on exceptional women in tech!

2️. Gain Wisdom: Our speakers shared advice, and experiences and answered your burning questions!    

3. Networking: Connect with like-minded women in tech! 


During our first session, we were grateful to meet 7 inspiring women with expertise and strong passion in their respective fields:

Queenie Chan , a technology leader and transformation enabler awarded Singapore Top 100 Women in Tech with over 19 years in the banking industry, focusing on large-scale application modernization, cloud, and infra-transformation.

Raisa Kabir, an NUS alumni working as a Software Engineer at Open Government Products, GovTech and DataGov focusing on rebuilding Singapore’s open data portal.

Jessendra Loke, a product manager from Open Government Products working on launching products from 0 to 1.

 Qimmy (Lim Qi Xuan), a designer with more than 8 years of experience in design with international experiences and strong love for words, images.

Cherie Wang, the founder of Planner Bee and a Chartered Financial Advisor with 15 years of experience, ranking in the top 5% of financial advisors globally.

Chloe Li, a member of the executive committee of Singapore Computer Society who is a Top AI Voice on Linkedin and made Singapore 100 Women in Tech in 2021.

Wang Nan, a pioneer Ai technologist committed to enhancing AI infrastructure, who leads the Group Engineering Center for Data Analytics platform building, creating a product vital to ST Engineering


At our second session, our esteemed speakers included:

Jasie Fon, a leader in multinational organizations including Darktrace, Microsoft, Workday and IBM, with over 25 years of experience in sales, marketing and entrepreneurship in enterprise applications.

,Alyssa Lee, a professional with seven years of experience in the tech industry and four years in finance.

 Lea Wang Yi, a backend software engineer at Apple who is passionate about the intersection of technology and AI

Angel Suhardi, an Engineering Manager whose career encompasses full-stack engineering at Snapchat, her own consulting firm Zendesk and currently OGP.

Hena Shah, a Product Manager at Open Government Products, who has a deep interest in the intersection of business, technology and society.

 Samantha Soh, the Co-founder and first designer of Shopback and currently in OGP.

and Nuri P. a data and AI practitioner at Mastercard who is passionate about data for social impact, ESG, and Responsible AI initiatives.





This event offered a priceless chance for female students in the School of Computing to delve into various domains within the technology industry. It facilitated connections with female innovators and pioneers, offering valuable networking opportunities. Besides, it also gave them the opportunities to connect with fellow female undergraduates and served as a great source of inspiration and motivation for them to be even more confident in their tech journey.


We would like to thank all speakers for their meaningful sharing of the industry. We would also like to give a shout-out to the organizing team Jolyn Leow, Jingjing Wang, Celeste Cheah, and Rachel Gina Abelarde !
